What is Aka Island?

Aka Island is the third largest inhabited island in the Kerama Islands, and is home to Kitahama Beach, one of the most famous sandy beaches in Kerama, with its dazzling scenery known as Kerama blue.

There are no traffic lights or convenience stores, and there are no conveniences on the island, but it is a great place to experience the richness of nature.

Aka Island Details

Access	Aka Island is a 1 to 2 hour ferry ride from Naha. Approximately 50 minutes by high-speed boat "Queen Zamami Ferry Zamami" takes about 90 minutes. *Some ferries do not go via Aka Island, so be sure to check in advance. Ferry reservations can be made in advance, so we recommend that you make your reservations in advance if you are able to get a room reservation.
